The post window is rather small relative to the size of the page...that or my 1024x768 monitor just is a tad large to effectively display this forum.

The post window is a fixed number of characters wide, and the display pages are not. Perhaps I didn't actually put in the returns I thought I had, or perhaps, since I was pasting the text, the line endings were of a type that the forum CGIs didn't know about. That's a bit of a long shot. Anyway, pretend there are blank lines between what I said and what the Mac man muttered.
