Welcome. May I ask how you found us?

I'm guessing here that VA is Veterans' Administration, and that CSP is Clinical Study Program?

Data acquisition is a job for a
DETECTIVE
Data Encoded To Enable Clinical Trials In Veterans' Environment

If you're looking for something to consult, then go to the
ORACLE
Online Resource Assisting Clinical Learning/Education

Maybe more later.

Best wishes.

Welcome!

Could this program perhaps be used as a VIRTUAL DOCTOR?

Veterans' Information Resource That Uses A Large Database Of Clinical Trials; Online Retrieval.

If VA actually stands for somthing else, whatever the V word is could perhaps be substituted for Veterans'. Perhaps even VA's Information Resource...

Aah, I just checked out http://www.va.gov and VA is, as Tony suspected, the Department of Veterans Affairs. So it's about people who have literally been in the wars... maybe relevant clinical trials should also be in the WARS: Web Application Retrieving Studies

Presuning that only those ex-soldiers who are ill, or suffering some sort of symptoms will be included in the studies... (and what is war but a series of...)....
BATTLES
Brilliant Application That Tabulates Listless Ex-Soldiers

and then there is the double-meaning 'theater' (to use the 'Americna' spelling ;-)

THEATER OF WAR
Tool Holding Exciting Archive That Enables Researchers Obtain (From Web-based Application) Results

Q. What do you do when you're sick?

A. You consult a DOCTOR

Digital Online Consulting Tool, Or Reference

I can see this in use as someone says "Let's see what the DOCTOR has to say....."

Since this database doesn't have a name yet, what should I call the category in which these acronyms go on the site? Dawn, have you decided on a name for it?
