I am looking for some creative ideas for acronyms to help my students remember the thirteen colonies...
(New England) - M (assachusetts)
                R (hode Island)
                C (onnecticut)
                D (elaware)

(Middle) -     NJ
               NY
               D
               P

(Southern) -   M
               NC
               SC
               V
               G

I can't promise anything, but I'll try.
It's a bit tricky with the two-letter ones, I may need to modify that some way (he says, making excuses before he even starts!) but I'll try not to get too far from reality.

Mrs M, apart from the groupings they're in, is there a reason why the states are in the order you gave them? Would it be preferable if any expansion of them kept that same order, or is there scope to play around with it?
