FORTRANIn the beginning, there was FORTRAN.
At least according to the family tree of programming languages poster which I picked up at WWDC 2004. I learnt FORTRAN at the very first Parallel Computing Summer School at Massey University. Back then their cluster had four machines, which together had less processing power than the PowerBook G4s of the time. Anyway, I can't say I wrote much FORTRAN, or that I remember much of it, but what kind of programmer would I be if I had never even programmed in FORTRAN?This page has been accessed times since 2025-08-04 01:21:48 Last updated: 2007-01-26 11:54:22
