Perhaps it's bad taste to acronymise something like this, but:

WAR When America Retaliates/Will America Retaliate?

(Not meaning to imply that a war would be America's fault for retaliating)

Wastage All 'Round :(

WORLD TRADE CENTER: Was Osama Responsible? Lost Due To Runaway Aeroplanes - Death Everywhere. Can Everyone Near Terrorists Expect Revenge?

Perhaps it's bad taste to acronymise something like this, but:

Angela, I'm an AMERICAN and I have no objection, so nobody should.

WAR When America Retaliates/Will America Retaliate?

(Not meaning to imply that a war would be America's fault for retaliating)

If America realiates against bin Laden or whoever is responsible for this most heinous act, that's a war...strike, counterstrike.  That's all there is to war.  So yes, there would be a war.

Wastage All 'Round :(

True...horrid, quite horrid.

WORLD TRADE CENTER: Was Osama Responsible? Lost Due To Runaway Aeroplanes - Death Everywhere. Can Everyone Near Terrorists Expect Revenge?

A most astounding acronym...describes the WTC situation as good as Dan Rather (CBS network newscaster, FYI) does.

WTC--War?  Terrorism?  Crime?   (given the lack of a proper term to describe the September 11, 2001, tragedy in New York City, resulting in the destruction of the World Trade Center)

And then I said:

I realised that. I put in that disclaimer of sorts because I thought some people might react by saying that the plane crashes were already an act of war, so the WAR wouldn't start by America retaliating.

Jeff also said:

So I said: Thanks.

Your WTC acronym and accompanying explanation were good too, if an acronym on this topic can be good.

Thank you.

ASTOUNDING
Acronym Seems Totally Outstanding, Using No "Dictionary Invading" Neologisms - Great

Thank you... but what other kind of handling could there be of an X but X-ellent?

I had been working on....

And Now The Human Race ... Aaaaaarrrrggghh... Xpires

CHUCKLE! Crudely Hilarious Undertaking... Comically Killer Little Expansion!

I liked the Aaaaaarrrrggghh, although it's not one of the spellings of aarrghh which is an allowable Scrabble word. :^D

Outlook Express puts "Tony" if I type a "t" in a form's field

"Aaaaaarrrrggghh" is the plural of "Aarrghh"!

PLURAL
Painfully Loud Ululating, Repeated A Lot!

Eudora puts 'Tony' if I type a "t" into the "To:" field, but I don't use Eudora for web browsing

I've just discovered I wrote another ANTHRAX acronym, but didn't post it. It was written when only one person had died of anthrax in the USA but the whole world was paranoid about it:

And Not Two Heads Rolled - All Xaggeration!

I just realised I hadn't posted this one:

WARFARE - We Are Ready For A Rapid Exit.

(Exit can be taken two ways!)

Also, I was working on one for TALIBAN, but as it stands I don't like it very much - any suggestions?

Terrorists Are Liked In BigBrother-esque Administration of Nation.

The Afghani Leadership Is Biased Against Nonmales

Thugs And Louts In Bourkhas - America's Nemesis

They Abandoned Learning Islam - Began Attacking Neighbours.
(This is in reference to the origins of the Taliban, religious students who went to fight the Russian invaders)
